Bhullar leads Day 3 at Macao Open with 10-under

Gaganjeet Bhullar leads Day 3 at Macao Open

Bhullar despite his round of three-over 74 today leads Round 3 of  Macao Open by a shot on the Asian Tour, trailing him by one shot are Ajeetesh Sandhu and Hung Chien-Yao.

Bhullar stays strong

Bhullar entered the field with a four-stroke lead over countryman Ajeetesh Sandhu. Bhullar who has previously won the event in 2012, had a tragic round today consisting four birdies, two bogeys, a double-bogey on the par-4, 5th and a triple-bogey on par-3, 11th, taking his total to 10-under 74, he posted rounds of 64 and 65 in his first two rounds.

Sandhu, the consistent man

Ajeetesh Sandhu, the newest winner on the Asian Tour with his performance at the Yeangder TPC, posted a round of 71 consisting three birdies and three bogeys, his previous two rounds were of 66 and 67 and has been in the second spot since day 1.

Joining him for the shared second spot is Hung Chien-Yao, who climbed five spots from yesterday with his today’s round of six-under 65, taking his total to nine-under 204.

First-round co-leaders

Giwhan Kim and Yikeun Chang co-led Round 1 with Bhullar, but slipped to third and 14th spot on Friday. Kim posted three-over 74 today, further dropping three-spots today for a shared sixth spot with Johannes Veerman for a total score of five-under 208.

Whereas Chang dropped to a shared 43rd spot from Friday’s 14th with his round of five-over 76, similar to Friday’s round, taking his total to three-over 216. He shares his spot with Dodge Kemmer entering the final round.

Indians at the Event

While Bhullar and Sandhu are leading the Indian contingent at the event, others present are Subhankar Sharma, Rashid Khan, Khalin Joshi, Chiragh Kumar, Chikkarangappa S., M Dharma, and Himmat Rai.

Subhankar Sharma dropped to a shared 24th spot with his round of six-over 77, taking his total to one-over 214, he now shares 24th spot with Chiragh Kumar, Rashid Khan, Daniel Chopra, Natipong Srithong, Steve Lewton, Scott Barr, and Chawalit Plaphol.

Take Solutions Masters runner-up Khalin Joshi dropped down to a shared 61st spot with his tragic eight-over 79 today, taking his total to seven-over 220. He shares his spot with Mardan Mamat and Somsak Kaopratum.

Himmat Rai with his today’s round of three-over 74 now stands at the 57th spot, shared with Poom Saksansin, Namchok Tantipokhakul and Itthipat Buranatanyarat. They all posted three-over 74 for today except Itthipat who posted four-over 75 and dropped five-spots from yesterday.

Last Indian at the even is M Dharma who posted a round of seven-over 78 today for a shared last spot on the board T-69th with Jason Knutzon. Dharma ranked 52nd on Friday but went on to post 79 today consisting eight bogeys in his round.
