Priced at $149.99 with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue 115 shaft and Lamkin UTx Grip, will be available in the markets from January 26.
Lofts available for the wedge are 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 64 degrees.
Designed by Roger Cleveland, Callaway’s Chief Designer, working with the best players and their feedbacks, Mack Daddy 4 wedges feature a new groove and surface treatment for extra spin.
“We have gone into an entirely new process in terms of cutting the grooves,” Cleveland said. “First, we fly-cut the face to make sure it is perfectly flat, and then we cut in the micro-features that are between the main grooves. They’re actually positives (meaning they stick up into of being cut down in the metal), so we cut away all the material around them. They’re small, but they’re positive. After we do that, then we saw-cut in the main grooves. It takes about 13 to 14 minutes to cut the grooves into one wedge, and we finish with 84 contact points.”
Callaway calls this Groove-in-Groove technology, generating more spin.
The wedges are available in four different grinds namely C, S, W, and X, let’s find out what they are:
C Grind

C Grind wedges help players to have more heel relief and making it easier to hit from tight lies with an open face.
S Grind

S Grind provides 10 degrees of bounce with medium width sole and moderate heel relief.
W Grind

W Grind provides 12 degrees bounce, with a sole wide at the center and toe and narrow at the heel. It prevents digging without increasing bounce.
X Grind

X Grind features a narrow, high-bounce, crescent-shaped center section, with a significant heel and toe relief, and ideal for fluffy sand.
