Campillo joins Frittelli for the lead at 15-under 201
Jorge Campillo and Dylan Frittelli joined the top of the leaderboard at 15-under 201, with a matching six-under 66 for the day in the third round at Maybank Championship.
Interestingly enough Campillo and Frittelli shared the seventh position on Friday with a second round 66 and managed to match their scores once again. Campillo fired a bogey-free round today with an eagle on the first hole from 35-feet, and aided it with two birdies each on the front and back nine. He is looking for his first professional win on the Tour.
This is Campillo’s third appearance at the Maybank Championship after finishing T-4th in 2016 and T-55th in the last year.
Frittelli playing his first Maybank Championship and won AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in December after defeating Arjun Atwal of India in a playoff and finished T-6th at the Omega Desert Dubai Classic, keeping his form hot, shot a bogey-free 66 today for the share of the lead. Frittelli has posted only two bogeys in his 54-holes at the event making him a strong contender for another win.

Khalin Joshi trails the co-leaders by a shot after jumping 22 spots up from his Fridays round of 70. Joshi fired a solid bogey-free seven-under 65 today with a first hole eagle chipped in from 20yards and aided it with five birdies, four of them coming on his back nine. Joshi is making his first appearance at the Maybank Championship and is pumped up for his first possible win on the Tour. His best result of the second finish came at the Take Solutions Masters in Bengaluru.
Joshi is joined by Berry Henson who too shot 65 for the day with two eagles one on the first and another on the last hole, six birdies, three of them came back to back on 7th, 8th, and 9th holes, and an unfortunate double-bogey on the par-4 14th.
Second round co-leaders Khongwatmai and Bertasio stood T-5th for the day with 70 in their rounds, taking their totals to 13-under 203 and are joined by Hideto Tanihara, Ryo Ishikawa who shot a magnificent bogey-free 63 for the day and climbed to T-5th on the board from T-63rd finish on Friday, and Marc Warren.
Shiv Kapur posted another 67 for a T-11th finish at 11-under 205, Shubhankar Sharma and Gaganjeet Bhullar share the 19th spot on the board at 11-under 205 with matching third round scores of six-under 66 after a T-51st finish on Friday.
Asian Team Captain on the EurAsia Cup Arjun Atwal shot 68 for the day for a T-26th finish at 10-under 206 with Andrew Johnston, Scott Jamieson, Gavin Green, Maximilian Kieffer, Joost Luiten, David Lipsky, and the opening round leader Chris Paisley.
Jyoti Randhawa is tied for the 46th position on the board at 7-under 209 and is followed by SSP Chawrasia for a T58th position on the board at 5-under 211.
