Royal Birkdale receives 3-Iron used by Spieth
Jordan Spieth sent the infamous 3-iron used by him to the Royal Birkdale Golf Course, for the most talked bogey on the 13th during the final round to win The Open by a shot over Matt Kuchar when all looked haywire for him. This shot has been even called the most important shot of the event, some even call it of his career.
The shot which made the difference
During the final round of The Open Spieth was tied for the lead with Matt Kuchar at 8 under when he hit one of the worst drives anyone had hit all week, his ball landed on top of a monstrous sand dune, leading him to take a penalty stroke from the unplayable. From there he hit his 3-iron for a third shot over the Titleist Equipment truck and went on to make bogey. The bogey put Kuchar for a lead by a shot.

News of Spieth sending his 3-Iron which he used for the miraculous recovery was broken by the Twitter handle of Royal Birkdale Golf Club. You don’t often see a bogey get celebrated, but this was something special. Spieth, post his recovery on the 13th went on to be five-under on next five holes to win his third major championship.
