Leishman who recently won the BMW Championship finished his final round for two-under 70 and a total score of nine-under 279, just ahead of Thomas by a shot and Thomas came in strong on the final hole attacking it directly on the second shot and sitting for an easy eagle at eight-under, but the event might have needed much more excitement already and he went down for a birdie and resulting a call for playoff and both the players looked frustrated with the outcome.

The playoff

The playoff was set for the par-5 18th twice and par-4, 10th, Leishman found trouble with his very first shot landing just our of the fairway next to a rocky wall and he was saved by a free-drop and finished the hole for par, a score matching Justin Thomas on the first playoff hole.

The 18th hole was played again to decide the winner and this time Leishman found more trouble when he found water on his second shot and giving an easy chance for Thomas to win.

“Obviously, disappointing to finish off that way. I probably got a little bit of a lifeline on the first playoff hole and I didn’t take advantage of it. You give one of the best players in the world a chance like that, he’s probably going to take it. Disappointed but second is not all bad,” Leishman said.

New event.

“It was a bit of a dodgy lie. I was certainly not going to lay up. I just chunked it a little bit and goes in the water. If you go down, you want to go down like that. You don’t want to go down laying up and making par. I rather attack and try to take it. I would certainly sleep better at night just doing that.”

Anirban Lahiri, the rise, and fall

Lahiri led the field on Saturday and Sunday, but the lead was short lived when he posted a bogey on 16th yesterday and today on the 14th and what added salt to the misery was a double-bogey on the par-4, 15th. His final round consisted two birdies, two bogeys, and a double-bogey for a two-over 74 finish.
