Rory McIlroy and Spieth are rearing to go for the PGA Championship, and it all starts from Aug 10th.
The event scheduled at Quail Hollow is expecting a huge crowd turn around with the recent Spieth’s The Open triumph. Odds have it at 8-1 for Spieth and Rory joins the same prediction rate too.
What has excited this debate further is Spieth’s 13th hole debacle and still winning the Open,
which at that point looked in trouble, thus showing the confidence. McIlroy who had finished for T-4th at the Open is rated the same for his debacle at The Open.
Jordan Spieth marked his third Major title with a swig from the Claret Jug – as Rory McIlroy last night vowed to move heaven and earth to stop him toasting a clean sweep.
Open champion Spieth celebrated sealing the third leg of the career Grand Slam with fellow pros on the flight home to America.
The 23-year-old can become only the sixth player to win all four Majors by clinching the US PGA championship in under three weeks’ time.
But McIlroy, who since 2014 has only needed the Masters to join the elite club, said: “Am I motivated by getting there first? I really am. I do not want Jordan getting that Grand Slam before I do.
“For Jordan to come in ahead of both of us and swipe it away would be tough to take, so I desperately want to win the PGA.”
It would be a great sight for the golf fans all around the world watching them battle out and who finally comes out as the winner. Will it be any one among these two or a new face, time will only tell, till then we can just enjoy Canadia Open from tomorrow.
