Just 2 days to go for the Players and Rory has packed his bags relying on the trusted Taylormade. The deal is signed for a decade with $10m annual payout for the bag, ball, and clubs. This comes over additional to the $200m agreement with Nike for clothes.
McIlroy was out in the field without any equipment contract since last year in Dec, when Nike stated it was to withdraw from that market.
The figures involved endorse the Irishman’s as one of the most marketable individuals in the global sport, with the Taylormade’s deal believed to be their biggest fiscal commitment to any golfer.
McIlroy has spent 5months of 2017 trying all the combinations of clubs and balls for tournaments, with the deal in hands with Taylormade McIlroy seems confident and says now it’s time to improve and regain No.1 spot. McIlroy will use Taylormade M2 woods, prototype blade irons, and the TP5x ball.
Taylormade already has contracts with Dustin Johnson and Jason Day in using clubs and McIlroy joins them in the feat.
