Tiger Woods, who has been in the news for all the wrong reasons this whole year, is back in the news and this time he is in for a right one. U.S. Presidents Cup Captain, Steve Stricker has announced that Tiger will be his assistant at the President Cup next month.

Woods who has served as Vice Captain to Davis Love III last year at the Ryder Cup, is looking forward to his new role, professional golf career which still looks far for him now, but for his fans seeing him in this role too would cheer them a lot.

Headlines from past few months have been only in negative tone for the 14 times major champion, starting from his DUI arrest in May, his post release statement, his improved health report and spotting in Miami, his plea of not guilty on the DUI arrest and his latest news being presence of five drugs in his body at the time of DUI arrest have only hurt his fans and himself, putting his future in question.

Stricker on Thursday at the Northern Trust Open, said “It will be good to have him there. Guys are looking forward to it and I know he’s looking forward to it as well,” Stricker said on Thursday at The Northern Trust. “He wants to get back in the mix, and I know he’s itching to get back out here, and this will be a first step for him.”

“I talked to him a few times, just to make sure he’s good and still coming [to the Presidents Cup],” Stricker said. “A couple of months ago, he wasn’t feeling well enough to come, now, he is, he said.”

Woods was announced Vice Captain by Stricker in October 2016, just days after he finished his duties with Davis Love’s squad at the Ryder Cup. 2017 season for Woods was out of the question with his fourth back surgery and even resulting in his absence from the Liberty National.

Tiger last seen at Dubai Desert Classic in early February, from where too he had to withdraw due to his back spasms. He had announced of a possible comeback with a tweet in May this year, but since then the only ray of hope has been his well being and seen with his family at Miami.

We hope he has a great recovery from all the negativity and wish to see him play at the Pro Tour too.
