Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth & Henrik Stenson are in the same group
Tiger Woods first appearance at the Valspar Championship just got more exciting with the announcement of Jordan Spieth and Henrik Stenson as his playing partners for Thursday-Friday rounds.
The star-studded trio is set to tee-off at 12.46 p.m. EST on Thursday and 7.56 a.m. on Friday. Woods is playing his fourth event of 2018 after a stunning T-12 finish at The Honda Classic.
Statistically, this is the eighth time that Woods and Spieth have been paired in the same group, where Spieth has won six times against him and tying him for the other chance.
Spieth currently has been struggling on the greens so far and ranks sixth in stroke gained: tee-to-green and fourth in strokes gained: around-the-green. His best finish of solo ninth came at the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
Henrik Stenson aka “Ice Man” is making his first PGA Tour start of 2018, after finishing T-2nd at the HSBC Champions in October.
With Woods sitting out of 2017 season due to fourth back surgery, he has surely come back strong and has performed extremely well if you look at what he has been through over the past few years. While Woods is making his first appearance at the Valspar Championship, joining him is Rory McIlroy who too has never played at the event.
